Ahakista, Sheep's Head Peninsula

About Us

“Taken over by brothers Tom (chef) and Michael (front of house) Moloney at the end of the first lockdown in June last year, locals and tourists alike are justly delighted by the fabulous new lease of life given to this longstanding local favourite, not least with their superb sourcing from local producers.”

We are incredibly lucky to live and work in a part of the world where we have access to the most amazing ingredients and producers, and we don’t take it for granted.

Our fish comes from John in Fresh Fish Deli in Skibbereen. The boats land in Castletownbere, it goes to John and then to us. It doesn’t get fresher!

Our Mussels come from the Roaring Water Bay near Baltimore.

Tommy and Teddy supply the pub from their boats on the pier with an array of seasonal shellfish – langoustines, shrimp, scallops and more.

All of our beef, pork and chicken comes from O’Donoghue’s in Bantry who also rear and butcher their own animals.
